Reportedly, sales of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have exceeded 300,000 copies since its release.

Spider-Man has arguably been the hottest figure of the month. Following the massive box-office success of the film Spider-Man: A New Day—co-produced by Sony and Marvel Studios—the game Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has seen a surge of new players. According to data from the gaming market research firm Alinea Analytics, the game has sold 316,000 copies since the global release of Spider-Man: A New Day on July 31.

Alinea’s data indicates that the Marvel movie’s huge success has driven sales of Spider-Man 2 on both PS5 and PC platforms. Originally released as a PS5 exclusive in 2023 and later ported to PC in 2025, the superhero action-adventure game reportedly generated over $11 million in total revenue across PlayStation and Steam in less than two weeks.

The firm’s data shows that, in addition to the 316,000 copies sold on PC and PS5, another 274,000 players accessed the game via PlayStation Plus. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was added to the PlayStation Plus game library earlier this year, making it available at no extra cost to all PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium members.

Notably, according to data from Alinea, physical copies have accounted for approximately 20% of Spider-Man 2 (PS5) sales since the launch of the “Brand New Day” update.

Spider-Man 2 Daily Active Users Surpass 1 Million
This surge in sales has pushed the total sales of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 across PS5 and PC platforms past 18.2 million units, according to official estimates. The game has reportedly generated over $1.2 billion in total revenue across these platforms.

To better understand the impact of the “Brand New Day” release, it is reported that Spider-Man 2 reached 1 million daily active users last weekend—a milestone not seen since its launch week in October 2023.

In addition, ahead of the release of Spider-Man: A Brand New Day, Insomniac Games rolled out an update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that added two new Spider-Man suits for Peter Parker, including the “Brand New Start” suit worn by Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the new film.

A Brand New Day has cemented its status as a historic box-office blockbuster. Co-produced by Sony’s Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios, and Pascal Pictures, the film became the second-fastest movie in history to cross the $1 billion global box-office mark, trailing only Avengers: Endgame. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, and Jon Bernthal, the film has currently grossed $1.67 billion worldwide and is making a push toward the $2 billion milestone.
